Operation Lake Waco

A good friend of mine has been trying to get me out to Lake Waco for some time now. If you know Waco, TX you know its like 90-100 out at this point, and even blesses us with humidity sometimes. Having melted daily just walking to and from the car my initial response has always been, "ummmmm I just don't know about taking the baby in he heat." (most people will not argue if you throw the word "baby" in) lol. But, Barbara was pretty sure about this whole lake trip so this morning we (Myself, Kaden, Brooklyn, Barbara and Claire) did it! We took snacks, towels, the big green wagon, chairs and toys.....and a HUGE life vest for Kaden! Everything was awesome, there was shaded tables to sit if you'd like, beachy shallow water for many feet blocked off especially for swimming and a really nice shady park! Kaden and Brooklyn enjoyed the water so much they didn't even want to get out! Needless to say, My thanks go out to Barbara Bridgewater today for showing us you CAN get out in Texas even with the bugs and heat! (on the side note of bugs, not one mosquito was spotted!) Today, made my adventure in the state that claims to do everything "bigger" a fun and adventurous one for the whole family!

Here's a few facts to consider when going....so I've been told
the weekends are busy, thus making it hard to keep an eye on your child(ren)
it's $4 per car load or $30 for the season to enter the area (if your friend has a pass borrow it!)
take plenty of water and sunscreen because the beachy area isn't shaded for the little ones
rafts and floats make it fun
They have a selection of life vests available for you to borrow FREE of charge for the children! AWESOME!
There are bbq's but sometimes they put them off limits because of the wind/heat advisory!

So, if your inside in Waco going crazy with your kids.....GET MOVING! The lake is great in Waco!

One more thing, I hear come August it isn't so "refreshing" due to the water getting hotter!

Refreshing

6:03am baby is crying, husband overslept, and the coffee didn't get set last night, this is how I woke this morning. All quick fixes, just took a little longer to get to that....Ahhhh.....refreshing first sip of Coffee for Two! I compartmentalize random thoughts, compile tons of information, and press "compute" out spits the plan of execution for the Bustle Day.

Sweet Thursday has provided me enough time to give my blogging a shot. I'd like to share my sometimes very random thoughts, new found knowledge, and great finds ( I've a huge heart for coupons and great deals) here for my friends and maybe at one point, a follower. I'd like to consider myself a networking being, involved in tons of activities, food co ops, the HOTUGC,a member of Antioch Community Church, a supporter of The Farm,  and tons of Local Local Local. I have awesome friends involved in great things that should be shared and supported. Hopefully this will allow me to share some insight, opinions, stories, and information with y'all (wow, I never used that word till Texas).

For now, I've got floors to clean, and dinner to plan. By the way, is it acceptable for me to make a chore chart if the only people that can read it in the house are my husband and myself?

I once read where it is unacceptable to post a blog without a picture, so here it is! Meet Herb, my husband and myself, Holly on our wedding day, September 13, 2009!
